ROBERT K. SNYDER, M.D.

Dr. Snyder is the senior partner of Ophthalmic Consultants. He is an ophthalmic sub-specialist in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery.

Dr. Snyder has served on multiple committees at Sarasota Memorial Hospital and for the American Diabetes Association, both locally and for the state of Florida.

Dr. Snyder has treated vitreoretinal disorders in the Sarasota, Bradenton and Venice area for 23 years.

College: University of California at San Diego – Revelle College, La Jolla, California. BA in Biological Sciences with a minor in Spanish Literature. Graduated – June, 1978.

Medical School: Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. Graduated with Special Honors in the Neurosciences. M.D. received June, 1981.

Post-Doctoral Fellowship: Baylor College of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology, Houston, Texas. Ophthalmic research. Frank Kretzer, Ph. D. was the supervisor. July 1981 – June 1982.

Internship: Baylor College of Medicine, Department of Neurology, Houston, Texas.
July 1982 – June 1983

Residency: University of Colorado, Department of Ophthalmology, Denver, Colorado. Philip Ellis, M.D. was the chairman. June 1983 – July 1986.

Clinical Fellowship: University of Colorado, Department of Ophthalmology, Denver, Colorado. Fellowship in Vitreo-retinal diseases. William Jackson, M.D. was the Clinical Professor of Retina. July 1986 – October 1987.
